This vintage bank bag was made by Rifkin with their 1932 patent Arcolock. This is an early variant with a rare no-hole Talon zipper, placing its manufacture in the mid 1930s to very early 1940s.
Cushman Japan reproduction wool half-belt jacket

This jacket was made by high end Japanese manufacturer Cushman, inspired by a mid 1930s workwear jacket. It is made from gray and eggplant plaid wool, with a half-belt back, built in vest, handwarmer pockets, belted cuffs, breast pocket and zip front. The jacket has a Waldes main zipper with an early 1930s Talon influenced grommet stopbox. The pocket zipper has a ball and chain pull, again typical of mid 1930s jackets. The jacket is, as was typical of this style of 1930s jackets, unlined. The front panels have a sort of half-lining, from the same wool as the jacket, which folds forward into the attached vest. It has cat-eye buttons. The side adjuster belts have fancy metal buckles. The jacket has a black and yellow label reading, “Outerwear by Cushman, Smarter Styling – Longer Wear”, in addition to a keystone All Wool tag.

1940s Civilian Air Associates B-2 leather flight jacket

This vintage jacket was made in Kansas City, Missouri, as a civilian version of the US army B-2 Flight jacket, issued in the early 1930s, and replaced by the B-3 in 1934. The army version was made of horsehide, with a single breast pocket, attached belt zippered cuffs on the inside of the wrist, and a full alpaca lining and mouton collar. This jacket was produced with a civilian label and a few alterations to the pattern. This jacket is made from capeskin, and with handwarmer pockets instead the large breast patch pocket that was universally removed from the army production version. This jacket has an off-center Talon main zipper, with bell-shaped slider and unmarked diagonal-stripe sunburst stopbox. The sleeves have zipper cuffs, with early pattern United Carr snaps and bell shaped talon zippers. The jacket has heavy wear, and the label has been partially worn away. The remaining text reads “aviation” and “Kansas City Mo”. There is a remnant of what looks to be a wing logo. The size tag is of the black and yellow design used on military jackets, and the pocket linings are the distinctive shade of twill used in the linings of A-2 jackets. These details point to this jacket having been made as part of a specialized civilian aviator’s line by a manufacturer which held a military jacket contract.

Japanese reproduction 1930s Joe McCoy horsehide halfbelt leather jacket

This jacket was made in Japan by high-end vintage repro company, Real McCoys under the Joe McCoy & Co. Leather Clothing Sportswear label. Though made in Japan, for authenticity to original 1930s jackets, the label reads, “styled and tailored in Buffalo, NY”. The plaid lined pocketbag bears the union label of the now defunct United Garment Workers of America. It is made from black front quarter horsehide. The jacket is a 1930s cossack style, with a pleated, belted back, bi-swing shoulders, d-ring side adjuster belts, deco buttons, a Talon zipper with deco stopbox, pin-lock slider and reinforcement grommets, and a Talon marked ball zipper on the breast pocket. Although the tape, teeth and slider are all in excellent condition, the slider won’t currently engage the teeth. The jacket has a burgundy lining. This jacket, though a few seasons old, is very close to McCoy’s current “Steinbeck” model, which retails for 194,000 yen, roughly equivalent to $1600 USD.

1940s Shanhouse Bold Look two-tone mackinaw jacket

This vintage coat was made in 1947-1948 by Shanhouse Bros of Rockford, Illinois. This coat was featured in their “Bold Look” advertising campaign, and has a brick red blanket wool body with contrasting trim, sleeves and caped shoulders in red and white plaid. As is typical of mackinaws of this era, it is unlined, save for the shoulders. The jacket has a Talon zipper, with a U shaped Talon marked stopbox that was produced in the late 1940s.

1960s Brent half-belt leather jacket

This vintage leather jacket was made in the 1960s for Montgomery Ward under their Brent label. It is a classic half-belt cossack leather jacket style, popular from the 1930s-1960s. While it is not labeled, with its heavier weight, this feels like a steerhide rather than horsehide. This one has a larger Talon zipper than earlier models, as well as a quilted nylon lining. These are rare to find in larger sizes like this, and even rarer to find in such good condition.

This vintage jacket was made in Chicago c.1947 by John Rissman & Son under the Windbreaker label. It is made of a brown wool material with an alpaca pile-like napped surface. It has a transitional Talon zipper with a wartime style pull and a post-war style stopbox, which helps date it with a good degree of accuracy to the years immediately after WWII. The jacket is a cossack style, with a pleated and belted back and handwarmer pockets. The jacket has a quilted lining and bears the union label of the United Garment Workers of America.
