This sweatshirt was made around 2009 and was sold by Target under their Mossimo label, with a design influenced by salt and pepper cardigans of the 1920s-1930s.

Chest (pit to pit): 22″ (doubled = 44″)
Shoulder to shoulder: 18-3/4″
Sleeve (shoulder to cuff): 24-1/2″
Length (base of collar to hem): 26″

Green shawl collar cardigan sweater

This vintage cardigan sweater was hand knit from green wool.  It has a broad shawl collar, small pockets and a bold knit.

Banana Republic turtleneck sweater

This sweater was made by Banana republic.  It has a turtleneck collar and an interesting sleeve arrangememt, shoulder seams on the front, raglan on the back.

This vintage sweater was made in the 1950s for a curler.  It has crossed brooms and curling stones knit in and a Canadian made Lightning zipper.

This sweater was a pre-production sample made for Banana Republic’s “Heritage” line. It has a shawl collar and flapped breast pocket.

Princeton Award sweater

This vintage sweater was made in the 1940s- early 1950s by Princeton Award Sweaters and Jackets. It is made from off-white wool with a wide waistband and drawstring neck. It has a 36″ unstretched chest, but has a good deal of stretch. I would recommend this for a 36-38.

1940s Canadian sweater

This was sold to me as being early 1930s, hand knit in British Columbia for a First Nations wedding.  With the style of Lightning zipper stopbox it has, I don’t think I quite buy that provenance, but I will say it is an early one for the zip front cardigan style that would come to be so iconic in Canadian culture, most likely dating from the late 1940s.

This vintage sweater was made in the 1980s by All Canada from an Acrylic/ Cotton blend.  It has a curling stone pattern on it and a maple leaf patch on the back.

This vintage sweater was made in Canada in the 1950s and has a five pin bowling motif. The front closes with a small gauge Talon zipper.
