1951 Custom Tailored belt-back double breasted overcoat

This vintage overcoat was custom tailored in November of 1951 for a Mr. Leon E Nark of Hershey, Pennsylvania. The coat is a classic double breasted style with 3×6 buttoning and a belted back. The coat is half lined, and has cuffed sleeves, pick stitched lapels and flapped patch pockets. The fabric is wool but feels like it may be a blend with cashmere.

1930s Browning King double breasted overcoat

This vintage overcoat was made in the late 1930s-early 1940s by Browning King, of Fifth Avenue, New York. It is their Lincoln model. The coat is double breasted, with peak lapels. It is half-lined, as was typical of overcoats of this era.

1930s-1940s Cougar men’s double breasted overcoat

This vintage overcoat was made in the late 1930s- early 1940s by Cougar (rugged as the Rockies) for the Van Zant & Willman Golden Clothes Shop, 2222 Halstead St, Chicago, Illinois. The coat is double breasted, with broad lapels, It has handwarmer pockets and double button belted cuffs, and is fully lined. It bears a 1939 Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America union label.

1940s Canadian Tropal Coat

This vintage coat was the Canadian version of the English Tropal coat. While the British versions were originally insulated with sheepskin, and later kapok, this is lined with a green pile. The coat is single breasted, with a wide overlap and internal windflap to keep out the harsh North African winds. The oversized collar flips up and latches for extra protection. The buttonholes are leather backed for durability and the collar is wool faced. The lining is removable via Newey snaps.

Swiss army overcoat

This vintage overcoat was made for the Swiss Army. It is made of gray green wool. It is double breasted, with epaulettes and button belt loops. It is half-lined.

Sleeve (shoulder to cuff): 25″ (though depending on where cuff is, can be between 24″ and 30″)

1950s Italian Navy bridge coat

This vintage overcoat was made in Italy for the Italian Navy. While it appears to have been produced in the 1950s from the label, save for the gold anchor buttons, the silhouette, with its sharp peak lapels, belted and pleated back, and nipped waist have a distinctly 1930s look. Switch out the gold buttons for black plastic and you have the perfect pre-war civilian overcoat.

1900s fur lined wool overcoat

This vintage overcoat was made around the turn of the century. It is double breasted and has a wool shell with an astrakhan collar, toggle closure, cuffed sleeves, ticket pocket and full fur lining. Perfect for the aspiring robber baron.

1930s Alpaca Pile overcoat

This vintage coat was made in the 1930s. It is made of 100% Alpaca pile, and would have been very expensive when new. The coat is double breasted with loop closure for the buttons instead of buttonholes, a common feature on fur and sheepskin coats to accommodate the thickness of the material. The coat is fully lined.

1930s-1940s John David double breasted overcoat

This vintage overcoat was made in the 1930s-early 1940s by John David of New York. It is double breasted with a 3×6 buttoning and a belted back. The coat is fully lined. It has an Amalgamated Clothing workers of America label, but the way it is stitched, I can’t tell if it is a 1936 or 1939 variant. The styling of the coat points to a pre-war date of manufacture. This is an extremely heavy overcoat.
