North West Mounted Police Buffalo Fur Coat

This vintage coat was made in the 1890s-early 1900s from buffalo fur for the North West Mounted Police. The North West Mounted Police was founded in 1873 and existed until 1904, when it was succeeded by the Royal North West Mounted Police, then by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in 1920. This bears the NWMP buttons of the earliest iteration. The coat has a broad shawl collar and double breasted closure, with distinctive leather straps on the front. It has leather reinforcement to the lining at the underarms and by the collar, as well as riveted leather reinforcement at the vent.

Chest (pit to pit): 23″ (doubled = 46″)
Shoulder to shoulder: 18″
Sleeve (shoulder to cuff): 25″
Length (base of collar to hem): 37″

Shawl Collar fur lined overcoat

This vintage overcoat has a full fur lining and a fur collar. From the way the collar extends over the top buttonhole and the interior, I would say that the fur was added later by a tailor.

1930s Alpaca Pile overcoat

This vintage coat was made in the 1930s. It is made of 100% Alpaca pile, and would have been very expensive when new. The coat is double breasted with loop closure for the buttons instead of buttonholes, a common feature on fur and sheepskin coats to accommodate the thickness of the material. The coat is fully lined.

This vintage wool cape was made by Pendleton woolen mills. It is a heavy wool plaid material, brown, blue gray and white. It has a fur collar and a full lining.

Raccoon Coat

This vintage fur coat is a men’s style, made by Langlois furriers in Victoriaville, Quebec. It is a 1970s version of the 1920s collegiate stadium coat style, with a large style, and two slash pockets. It has a quilted liner and a center vent. The coat has a fair bit of wear, but still has a lot of life in it.Chest: 20″ Shoulder to Shoulder: 19″ Sleeve (shoulder to cuff): 26″

Borsalino Mink 40

A high priced hat when new, this Borsalino didn’t make its journey through time the best. ‘The sweatband had gone kind of crispy, the hat had lost its oval block and turned into a circle, and the mink fur felt had a weird greasy feel to it. When I got it, it had a fitted vinyl rain cover.

WWII Swedish leather jacket

This is a great piece of European military leather. Super heavy, thick horsehide(?) with a great grain to it. Belted back, fur collar. Brings to mind the days of open cockpits. It’s lined in gray wool blanket material and has pewter backing buttons.
