1940s Shanhouse Bold Look two-tone mackinaw jacket

This vintage coat was made in 1947-1948 by Shanhouse Bros of Rockford, Illinois. This coat was featured in their “Bold Look” advertising campaign, and has a brick red blanket wool body with contrasting trim, sleeves and caped shoulders in red and white plaid. As is typical of mackinaws of this era, it is unlined, save for the shoulders. The jacket has a Talon zipper, with a U shaped Talon marked stopbox that was produced in the late 1940s.

1930s Montgomery Ward Sheeplined Coat

This vintage coat was made for Montgomery Ward in the 1930s. It is canvas, with a mouton collar and sheepskin lining. It has blanket lined sleeves with storm cuffs, and loop closures. These sheeplined coats were popular as workwear and with ranchers from the 1910s-1950s.

1920s Shawl Collar horsehide leather barnstormer jacket

This vintage leather coat was made in the 1920s-early 1930s. It is made of black horsehide leather, worn to reveal brown tones and incredible grain. It has a broad brown mouton shawl collar. The coat is single breasted, with handwarmer pockets and flapped hip pockets. The coat has an original wool lining, with nylon on the back and sleeves, probably to replace a worn lining. There are storm cuffs under the buttoned cuffs to keep the wind out. These hip length shawl collar coats were popular in the early days of motorcycling and aviation.

1940s Yellowstone Park souvenir belt

This vintage belt was made in the late 1940s as a souvenir of Yellowstone National Park. It has the belt buckle commonly used on this era of studded belt. The studwork spelling out Yellowstone Park is done in rhinestones instead of the more typical solid metal studs. It is stamped on the back a size 36 and measures 32″ to the smallest hole and 37″ to the largest.

1910s-1920s pullover workshirt

This vintage shirt was made in the late 1910s- mid 1920s. It is made of red wool, in a pullover style, with a convertible collar and buttoned breast pockets. This style of convertible collar, designed to be worn either buttoned up, or worn spread for a look similar to the lumberjack jackets of the time, was briefly popular on workshirts in this time frame. The shirt has a bold reinforcement panel, stitched so that it doubles as a small third pocket.

1950s Suprina two tone fraternity collegiate sweater

This vintage sweater was made by Valley Stream under the Suprina’s Sportland label (service by sportsmen). It is two tone green and cream, with white buttons and a felt Theta Gamma Chi patch, from the now defunct fraternity. The Right sleeve has been rolled under and stitched to shorten it for some reason.

1960s Teller tweed norfolk jacket

This vintage jacket was made in the 1960s by Teller of Austria, for the export market. It is made of tweed, with a wool tattersall lining. The jacket is belted, with norfolk straps. The belt loops on the side are decoration, the belt is sewn to the jacket. At some point, the original owner swapped the buttons out for brass Navy buttons.

1930s Duxbak Mohawk canvas hunting jacket

This vintage hunting jacket was made in the 1930s by the Utica Duxbak company of Utica, New York under their Rainproofed Mohawk hunting and fishing label. It is made of canvas, with a corduroy collar and corduroy lined cuffs. The jacket has the early style double round pockets which share a common flap. It has bi-swing shoulders, integrated undearm gussets, and a front placket pass through to the game pocket, with scalloped reinforcement stitching, mirrored by the flaps on the side seams to the game pouch. The expanding game pouch is marked Patent Pending and closes with early manufacture United Carr snaps.

This vintage overcoat was made on Nov. 26, 1942 for the United States Army. It is an Officer’s short overcoat / mackinaw coat. The coat is double breasted, with flapped pockets, a rear vent, and epaulettes.

This vintage canvas jacket was made in the 1930s for Montgomery Ward under the Western Field label, probably by Drybak. The coat is made of canvas, with a corduroy collar, internal game pouch and handwarmer pockets which double as the flaps for the cargo pockets.
