This vintage leather jacket was made in the early 1950s. It is made for suede leather in a casual style with a knit collar, handwarmer pockets, knit cuffs and knit waistband. It has a crown zipper.

This vintage jacket was made in the late 1930s-early 1940s. It is made from brown capeskin leather in the aviator style so popular in that time period. It has an offset zipper, broad lapels and collar, handwarmer pockets, a zipped breast pocket and zipped map pocket. It has a half-belt back. The main zipper is an early Crown, with a square topped stopbox and teeth very similar to a Talon (pre-chevron teeth, pre-two way teeth). The back is painted with nose art close to a Disney/Roald Dahl gremlin, with horned flight helmet and parachute harness, but with a pointy mosquito or bird nose. The lining is missing.

It is made of mackinaw wool, with a pleated, half belt back, low slung side adjuster belts, a grommet pin-lock Crown zipper, button adjuster cuffs, leather trim on the pockets. As is typical of these early work jackets, this one is unlined. The unusual coil zipper on the breast pocket was made by Nu-Zip

These vintage zippers were made in the 1940s. They are heavy duty, with two-way teeth, developed for the army during WWII, and a spring loaded, pin lock slider. The tape measures 10-3/4″, the teeth track measures 7-1/2″.

This vintage jacket was made by Pine Crest Outerwear immediately post-war, probably 1946-1948. It is a classic pre-war cossack style, unlined, with handwarmer pockets, a zip breast pocket, zip front, and half belt back with low slung side adjuster belts. It has a spring loaded Crown zipper with two way teeth for the main zip and a early style bar-connection ring pull Talon chain zip on the breast pocket.

This vintage jacket is an an N-1 deck jacket, manufactured for the US navy. It is the light shade of olive drab, which has been further faded through usage. It has an alpaca pile rounded collar and lining. The collar had a extension throat latch / chin strap. The main zipper is an early two-way tooth large gauge Crown, with riveted top stops. It has handwarmer pockets, internal storm cuffs, a drawstring waist, and a buttoned placket over the zip.

This vintage jacket was made in the late 1940s by the Allen Mfg. Co. of Denver Colorado. While Allen primarily made westernwear, this jacket seems to fit more into the mold of 1940s California sportswear. It is a waist length Cossack style, with pleated patch pockets. Their angled tops wrap around into the buttoned side adjuster belts. There is a single chest pocket with a Conmar chain zipper. The main zipper is a spring loaded Crown with the “two way” teeth developed by them during WWII. It has a bi-swing back.
