1930s-1940s aviator jacket

This vintage jacket was made in the late 1930s-early 1940s. It is made from brown capeskin leather in the aviator style so popular in that time period. It has an offset zipper, broad lapels and collar, handwarmer pockets, a zipped breast pocket and zipped map pocket. It has a half-belt back. The main zipper is an early Crown, with a square topped stopbox and teeth very similar to a Talon (pre-chevron teeth, pre-two way teeth). The back is painted with nose art close to a Disney/Roald Dahl gremlin, with horned flight helmet and parachute harness, but with a pointy mosquito or bird nose. The lining is missing.

WWII shawl collar army mackinaw

This vintage mackinaw was made in the 1940s for a US army officer. It has a shawl collar, is double breasted, and belted. This one has seen a lot of wear, though it’s hard to know whether it was during the war or post-war, as these were popular as surplus as workwear.

Swedish M1909 sheepskin parka

This vintage coat is an M1909, made by Mats Larsson for the Swedish army. It is made of heavyweight canvas with a sheepskin lining and collar. It has canvas tabs for the buttons, large saddlebag pockets with three button closure, and a section of quilted lining at the elbows.

WWII Swiss army coat

This vintage jacket was made for the Swiss army. It is made of sage gray/green wool, with a double breasted cut, belted back and Swiss cross buttons.

1940s Woolrich mackinaw with Talon Zipper front

This vintage coat was made c.1943 by the Woolrich Woolen Mills of Woolrich, PA. It is a size 44, and a relatively rare style, with a bell-shaped Talon zipper with sunburst stop-box. It has a broad, rounded collar, breast pockets with the plain snaps used by Woolrich during WWII and handwarmer pockets. It has low slung side adjuster belts and rear entry game pouch.

WWII Coast Guard jacket

This vintage coat was made during WWII. It is made from black canvas, and is single breasted with flapped pockets, and a belted back. It is stenciled with the original owners name inside.

WWII Shawl Collar Army Mackinaw

This vintage mackinaw was made in 1942 by the Jacob Siegel Co. for the US Army. It is shawl collared and double breasted, with flapped patch cargo pockets and epaulettes.

M421a repro by Ralph Lauren

This jacket was made by Ralph Lauren, inspired by the WWII USN M-421a summer flight jacket. It is made of lightweight cotton twill, unlined, with a half-belt back, bi-swing shoulders, a bell shaped Talon zip, flapped patch pockets, the left of which has a pen slot, and an internal vertical snapped breast pocket.

B-9 Parka

This vintage jacket was made in the 1940s. Similar to the USAAF B-9 jacket, but with extra length, I believe this was USN issue. It features a wartime Crown zipper, a mouton hood and throat latch, buttoned epaulettes, and a quilted lining. There are two rows of stitching overtop the lining which appear to have been added later.

March 1942 shawl collar army mackinaw

This vintage coat was made for the US Army during WWII in March of 1942. It is made of doeskin wool, with a shawl collar, a 3×6 double breasted front, a buttoned belt, buttoned epaulettes, and flapped patch cargo pockets. It is stamped as being issued to a W.G. Henry. These coats, and their predecessors were popular as hard wearing items of fall and winter workwear from the late 1920s-1950s.
