This vintage hat was made in the early 1930s for Ben Parkoff of Brooklyn, New York and is their “The Parksley” model. It is a rare style, briefly popular in the early ’30s, the snap brim homburg, flanged with a sharply curled homburg type brim curl to the back, and a more relaxed one in the front, allowing it to be worn up brim or snapped. It has the feathered edge to the bow that was so popular at this time, and the twisted dip to the reverse side of the ribbon which was also a short lived trend. It has a center crease with pinches and a bound 2-1/4″ brim. It has a wide sweatband with a taped rear seam and a fancy pleated lining. The original store size tag is still in the ribbon.

This vintage shirt was made in the 1930s by Duxbak in Utica, New York from plaid wool fabric from the Newton Woolen Mills of Homer, New York. It has a half-zip front with an early Talon zipper and a two button chinstrap.

This vintage vest was made in the 1910s-1920s. The label is mostly worn away, but appears similar to the earlier Drybak labels. There is selvedge throughout, on the front, and on the loops.

This vintage fedora was made by the Knox hat company of New York and is their Tom ‘n’ Jerry model. It has a pleated “shark gill” ribbon, a Knox branded wind string button, double stitched brim edge detail and a suede finish in a sage green color. It was originally sold by Tip Top men’s wear of Woodbury, New Jersey.

This vintage bag was made by the Can-Pro Corp of Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin. It is made of heavy canvas, with a rubber bottom and a leather top with metal fastenings, so that the leather belt can thread through and lock. This size is a model 113. This particular bag was used by the Brooklyn Office, and later the Greenburgh office of S.B. Thomas, Inc., 33-01 Queens Blvd. Long Island City, NY, and has a metal plate with their info riveted to the bag. There is a riveted chain for a lock (with part of the lock attached) attached to the leather at the top of the bag.

This vintage suit was made in the mid-late 1940s by H Bar C of California. It is made of wool gabardine, with a waist length cossack style jacket, with a half-belt back, handwarmer pockets, breast pocket and talon main zipper. The pants are western in style.

This vintage bank bag was made by Rifkin with their 1932 patent Arcolock. This is an early variant with a rare no-hole Talon zipper with D stops on the end. Earlier examples are made of canvas, while this one feels like a heavyweight nylon. Talon switched to a solid stop from the D-Stop in the 1950s, and Rifkin switched to a design with a windowed slot later on, so I would put the manufacture of this to the mid 1940s.

This vintage bank bag was made in the mid 1930s. It is canvas, is marked State Bank Chatham, NY, and closes with an early Talon zipper, with a round holed slider which was a re-tooling of earlier Hookless marked dies.
