This vintage shirt was made in Canada. It has a two pocket front, with cats eye buttons, and a fantastic label depicting a four motor airliner.

Reproduction leather and plaid jacket

This reproduction jacket has a great vintage style. Leather front and collar, with zipper breast pocket and round stitching on the pockets. Belt back with side adjusters, and yoked shoulders. Diamond weave green and black wool plaid. There is leather reinforcement on the cuffs and leather patches on the elbows.

Hooded Woolrich jacket

This vintage Woolrich coat has really great detailing. It has a brass Talon zipper front, with a buttoned wind flap. It is fully belted, with a chunky metal belt buckle. The handwarmer pockets close with brass talon zippers, and have leather reinforcements at the ends. The pocket trim forms the belt loops in the tradition of norfolk jackets. The front patch pockets are of the saddlebag variety, allowing them to expand when used. The coat has a hood, and a full sherpa lining, with quilted nylon in the sleeves. It is tagged a size 46, but with the 46″ chest measurement, fits like a size 42.

Woolrich Hunting Mackinaw Jacket

There were a lot of companies producing these hunting jackets, but for me, Woolrich is the iconic one. That giant rounded collar, the button front. Simple and rugged. One served me well in the pouring rain of Alaska and against the Canadian maritime wind. It’s hard to find one in mint condition. These were not fashion, they were utilitarian pieces, used for decades, until there was nothing left. Tears and repairs are the norm. Woodsmoke and rain a way of life. This one is the short version, less commonly seen than the four pocket version.

This vintage hunting mackinaw was made by the Woolrich Woolen Mills. It is their short, zip up pattern, which features two breast pockets, two slash handwarmer pockets, and a large rear game pouch. This one bears patches from Pennsylvania hunting groups. Chest (pit to pit): 21″Shoulder to Shoulder: 17-1/2″Sleeve (Shoulder to cuff): 23″

Plaid wool vest

This gap vest has a great vintage influenced style. It has a wool plaid shell, with suede gun patches on the shoulders and a four button front. The vest has a half belt, bi-swing action back, a detail borrowed from vintage leather jackets. In light of the lack of sleeves, it isn’t super useful other than as a design element, however. The front of the vest has handwarmer pockets, the bottom of which form the flaps for the cargo pockets.Chest: 23″

Aero Duxback hunting jacket

This vintage hunting jacket was made in Utica, New York by Duxback. It is marked Aero Rainproof Sportsman’s Clothing. It has a three pocket front, with saddlebag patch pockets. It has an action back, with a belt. There are under sleeve gussets. There are scalloped snap closure pocket flaps to access the interior game pocket. The rubberized lining of the game pocket has hardened an is cracking. Inside, there are two large breast pockets. All snaps are United Carr. It is tagged a size 44.

Hettrick Hunting Vest

This vintage hunting vest was made by Hettrick Sportswear, “a product of Hettrick Mfg. Co, Toledo, Ohio”. It is made of brown canvas duck, softened by decades of wear. It has elasticized loops for shotgun shells and a bellows breast pocket. The vest should fit a size 38.Chest: 19-1/2″

WB Place Deerskin Leather Jacket

This vintage deerskin jacket was made by the W.B. Place company of Hartford, Wisconsin. They were tanners- you sent them a deerskin, they tanned it and tailored it into a jacket or gloves. This jacket has a classic design for this kind of leather, very outdoorsy, with a western yoked front and back, contrast leather stitching and fringe. There are issues with the finish of the jacket, which seem more to do with the quality of the original tanning job than with wear. There is wear just above the cuffs, where the owner rolled the sleeves under to shorten them.Chest: 23″Shoulder to Shoulder: 19″Sleeve: 25″

This vest was made by the Kootenay Canvas Comapny of Ontario. It is heavy blue canvas with yellow trim. Snap front. Handwarmer pockets and large interior and exterior cargo pockets.
