Ralph Lauren King-O-Wear reproduction

This jacket was made by Ralph Lauren under the Polo label.  It is based on work jackets of the 1930s-1940s, drawing influence the most heavily from those made by King-O-Wear, with their distinctive leather elbow, cuff and pocket reinforcement and trimmed side adjuster belts. It has a zipper front, with a zipped breast pocket, and a quilted lining.

King-O-Wear workwear jacket

This vintage work jacket was made by King-O-Wear. It is a waist length style, made in black wool, with buckle adjuster sides, handwarmer pockets, a zipper front and grommet reinforcements for a badge. This style goes back to the 1930s, but this example was likely produced in the 1960s. As is consistent with earlier production examples of this style, the jacket is unlined. The 1949 union label and the Talon zipper on this helps to date this one. While the pull on the zipper goes back to the 1930s on luggage, its usage on jackets did not start until later. The stop-box is of the type which started use in the late 1950s. The union label is a half-scale variant which I have only seen used by King-O-Wear.

This vintage coat was made in 1950s by King-O-Wear Outerwear. It is a car-coat length, with a four button front. The coat has leather buttons, decorative stitching on the collar, large patch pockets, a ticket pocket flap, and incredible three button cuffs. The coat has short double vents, and a rare 1949 Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America union tag which I have only ever seen on other King-O-Wear products.
