This is another hat I got from a supplier in Italy. And another one that arrived squished in an envelope. But you know, the work put into fixing the shipping damage was always worth it. The guy had some really interesting hats.
I got this Resistol in an antique shop in Maine. It has kitten finish felt, an original care manual under the sweatband, and a back bow. It was sold by Haynes and Co. of Springfield, MA.
This hat is a mystery. I’ve seen them show up on ebay from time to time. They’re mostly all from this company, and all are from New Jersey. They’re all oddball colors. Masonic? Mummers? I would guess some kind of fraternal organization.
This is more modern, from Borsalino’s Rainproof line. It, like a number of vintage ones I have and have had, is designed to roll up to make traveling with it easier.
I don’t like the gold Borsalino script on the band- I find it pretty tacky.
