This vintage overcoat was made in September of 1943 by Blum and Nelson, the US National Bank Building, Denver, Colorado. It is double breasted, with a 3×6 closure and a breast pocket.

This vintage jacket was made in the 1950s. It is double breasted, with a 4×6 closure, half lining and Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America 1949 union label. Unfortunately the original owner removed the label in this jacket, along with all the labels in all his clothes, some of which I also have listed. The fabric is lightweight with a certain rough quality reminiscent of Palm Beach cloth.

This vintage mackinaw coat was made in the early 1950s for Montgomery Ward and was sold under their Windward Outdoor Clothing label. It is made of red, black and gray plaid mackinaw cloth, with a half-belt back and button on front belt. It bears a 1949 Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America union label, and a Windward label before the inclusion of the (R) symbol, which, combined with the quilted lining and subtle details, put the dating solidly in the early 1950s. The overall style of the coat from the outside is nearly unchanged from its first wave of popularity around 1935.

This vintage coat was made in the late 1930s by Congress Sportswear by Hudson’s Sports Store of Detroit, Michigan. It is made of red and black plaid mackinaw cloth, with a classic double breasted cut, with a belted back, flapped cargo pockets and handwarmer pockets on the chest. As was typical of 1930s mackinaws, this one is unlined.

This vintage suit jacket was made in the early 1940s by Capps Clothes (established 1838) and was sold by Jacoby’s Store for Men, Helena, Montana. Jacoby’s changed their name from Bossler’s in 1941, so with the 1939 union tag, the high cut, pre-bold look of the suit and the information about the original store, I would put this jacket’s original date of manufacture from 1941-1944.

This vintage coat was made in the 1920s by the Hudson’s Bay company. It is made of red HBC point blanket material, in a classic double breasted mackinaw cut. The points are located on the side seam and the black portion of the blanket has been used for contrast on the belt loops. The coat is, as was typical of mackinaws of this period, unlined. The label is a rare early variant, used up to the mid 1920s, when it was amended with registration numbers, as is seen on another, slightly later HBC mackinaw I’m currently selling.
