This vintage suit jacket was made in the 1940s. It has wide peak lapels and a two button front. At some point, a third button was added, which does not match. There is significant fraying to the hem, wear to the cuffs, and repairwork to the lining.

Gold Lame Hollywood Jacket
http://www.ebay.com/itm/271093646688
This vintage two tone jacket has a gold metalic brocade panel front, and black sleeves, trim, and back. With the asian print lining, it’s safe to say it’s a Hong Kong tailored job. It buttons all the way up the front, to the neck, so it can be worn with a standard suit jacket look, or a nehru look. It’s a great early rock and roll stagewear look. There is wear to the metallic thread, and some staining to the front- see pics.

This vintage pepsi work jacket dates from the 1960s. It has a large pepsi patch on the back, coming unstitched a bit, a triangular pepsi patch on the sleeve and a “say pepsi please” patch on the front. The jacket has a talon zipper, which is missing its pull. It was made by Riverside Masterbilt.

This jacket was made in the 1960s by Jeffrey Joyce for the Towne Toggery of Fall River, MA. It is a belted full norfolk style, a style more commonly associated with the Edwardian through 1930s period. It is a bold brown, mustard and green tweed. It has a four button front, with two buttons to close the belt. It has a long vent in the back. It is half lined.

Alberg red blazer with black velvet collar
Now on eBay!
This vintage jacket was made in the late ’50s or early 1960s by Alberg of Montreal. It is a bright red flannel blazer with a black velvet collar. Very much a hunt inspired blazer. It has a short rear vent, one button on each sleeve, and no breast pocket. There is some slight staining to the front of the jacket, which could probably be taken care of with a dry cleaning. The jacket is half-lined in dark red.

The Grizzly Jacket
Horsehide arms and trim, laskinlamb trim. Generally, they had a matching sheepskin/mouton collar, slash handwarmer pockets and a belted waist. There were, of course, drastic design differences manufacturer to manufacturer. Popular in the mid to late 1930s. They were marketed as a boys and young men’s fashion. The idea (according to original ad copy) was, with the insulation on the outside, the wearer would have a greater range of motion. I didn’t see the “grizzly” name show up when searching for original ads, but it has become the catchall term for this style.
