1930s Milcraft Clothes belted overcoat

This vintage overcoat was made in the mid 1930s by Milcraft Clothes of St. Paul, Minnesota. It is double breasted, with a full belt, patch pockets, cuffed sleeves, a breast pocket, and a fancy yoked, pleated back. As is typical of overcoats of this period, it is half-lined. Unfortunately, there are no union tags or tailor’s tags, but the particular details, style of the Millcraft label, and style and cut of the coat allow for fairly close dating. Pocket square not included.

Lightweight Marshall Fieldmaster hunting vest

This vintage hunting vest was made in the 1930s by the Marshall Clothing Manufacturing Company of Butler, Indiana, under their “Gamemaster” label. The Marshall Clothing company was a well regarded manufacturer of sportswear- letterman jackets, basketball uniforms, gym shorts and the like. This vest has a five button front, with a high neck closure, reminiscent of early Brown’s Beach vests, also marketed towards the hunting market. This one is made of lightweight light brown canvas, with closed bottomed loops for 32 shotgun shells. These loops are all covered with flaps to protect the cartridges from the elements. This vest also has a flapped bellows pleated breast pocket.

Days Ranger Whipcord Crusier jacket

This vintage jacket was made in the 1950s by Day’s from “Ranger Whipcord”. It has a six pocket front, and a rear game pocket with zipper closed entry. The front does up with snaps, and the game pocket with Talon chain-style zippers. It is lined in a striped whipcord material, and bears a United Garment Workers of America union label in the inside breast pocket

Californian leather Norfolk Jacket

This vintage leather jacket was made by the California Sportswear Company of Los Angeles, California under the Californian label. It takes heavy stylistic cues from the Norfolk jackets of the 1910s and 1920s. The jacket has two breast pocket flaps with chest pleats, a full attached belt, flapped hip pockets, and a pleated back with a scaloped yoke. The jacket is fully lined.

Rio Algom Mine Rescue leather jacket

This leather jacket was made in the 1980s by Bristol Leather and Sportswear company of Montreal, Canada. It bears a patch of the Rio Algom mining company, who owned and operated Uranium mines through Canada. The patch is for the Rio Algom Mine Rescue squad, and has an image of a miner wearing a hard hat.

Repro Indian Blanket railroad vest

This vest was made by a company called Maxwear, in the style of a 1930s work vest, similar to the ones made by Brown’s Beach Jacket and the sleeved versions made by Woolrich. It is made of thick wool approximating the pattern of an Indian blanket. It has a five snap front, with patch pockets. The back has adjuster tabs. Snaps have a star design, continuing the western theme started with the material.

Modoc Mfg. Co leather vest

This vintage leather vest was made in the small town of Madras, Oregon by the Modoc Manufacturing Company. It is made of what feels like buckskin, with a pile lining. The patch pockets are riveted, and the vest has a snap front. The logo is an Indian chief. I can’t find much on this company, other than they operated in the 1960s and 1970s.

White Chimayo Blanket Vest

This vintage Chimayo Indian blanket vest was made by Americraft of El Paso, Texas, probably in the 1970s. The design and cut of these vests changed very little since the 1930s or earlier. This one has a white field, with black, turquoise, red and yellow pattern. It is a one button version, with a loop closure. The button is missing.

Blue Chimayo blanket vest

This vintage vest was made from Chimayo Indian blanket material. It has a five button front with loop closure. The material is a vibrant blue with red, yellow, white and blue designs. The edges of the interior are lined. Unfortunately, there are no tags, but there were several makers of these vests based out of New Mexico and Texas.

1930s Work Breeches 33 Waist

These vintage breeches were made in the 1920s and 1930s and were obviously worn for heavy work. They are made from heavy cotton material, in a lace legged breech style. They have a button fly. The legs have been reinforced with two layers of heavy roughout leather. Other holes, including one in the leg, and one in the crotch, have been patched with what looks like army khaki twill.

Waist: 16-1/2″ (doubled = 33″)
Inseam: 24″
Outseam: 36″
Rise: 12″
