LL Bean railroad vest

This vest was made in the USA by Woolrich and was sold by LL Bean, and has a gray on gray wool/nylon material, with four pockets, a zip front and cinch back.It was made in the 1980s or so, to a design largely unchanged since the 1930s.

Ralph Lauren zip hood mackinaw

This coat was made by Ralph Lauren under the Polo label. This one was made in the USA and probably dates to the 1980s. The style is based on a short lived variant on the work mackinaw, popular very briefly in the late 1930s, with a zip front, handwarmer pockets and flapped cargo pockets, a belted back and a zipped split hood. In keeping with the origins, this one is made with unlined construction.

This coat was made in the USA by Ralph Lauren under their Polo label. It is double breasted, with a belted back, handwarmer pockets and flapped, buttoned cargo pockets. In keeping with the 1930s mackinaws upon which it is based, it is unlined with taped seams.

Ralph Lauren Indian blanket coat

This vintage coat was made in the USA by Ralph Lauren. Based on a 1930s Red Head Brand canvas hunting jacket pattern, it is rendered in a gray on gray Indian blanket material. It has a corduroy collar, reinforced shoulders, a deep breast pocket, large cargo pockets and small pockets in the flap above.

1930s Wards Western Field hunting jacket

This vintage jacket was made in the late 1930s-mid 1940s and was sold by Montgomery Ward under their Ward’s Western Field label. It is made from canvas, with a corduroy collar, game pouch, pleated breast pocket and handwarmer pockets which form the pocket flaps for the cargo pockets.

This vintage jacket was made in the mid-late 1940s and was sold by Sears under their Hercules label. The jacket is made from a lightweight cotton, with a Crown zipper with two-way teeth, a belted back, handwarmer pockets and belt adjusters on the side. It is unlined.
