Lakeland Shawl Collar sweater
http://www.ebay.com/itm/281344004202
This vintage sweater was made in the 1970s by Lakeland. The design is heavily influenced by the shawl collar sweaters of the 1920s and 1930s. It has a broad shawl collar, a four button front and four leather pockets, the design and placement of which are reminiscent of shawl collared mackinaw coats of the same period. The sweater is fully lined and has an interior pocket, in keeping with the original intention of these as an article of outerwear rather than something to be layered, as was the case with v necked cardigans.

Deadstock Wigwam Award Sweater

This vintage sweater was made by the Wigwam Hand Knit Hosiery Company of Sheboygan, Wisconsin for Marvin Goetsch. It has his name chain-stitched on a felt patch under the hem. Despite this, it is still neatly folded in the original store box, and appears to have never been worn. The sweater is a rich blue wool.

Gray deadstock 1940s sweater twin set
This vintage men’s twin set was made in the 1940s by “Flosmore”. It’s an unusual material, with a knitted texture on one side and a fleece texture on the other. The original tag on an identical sweater I recently sold stated that it is made with a 100% wool pile and a 100% cotton back, treated to give it a fur like finish. The hang tag on this one is for the Dupont Zelan finish. The box is stamped that the set is a size Medium. (The stamp is above the XL printed on the box, which is some kind of stock indicator, not the size). It also comes with the original guarantee ticket. The set consists of a matching pullover sweatervest and five-button front cardigan. They are both in excellent condition and have never been worn. I would say the set would best fit someone in the size 38-40 range.

Five Pin Bowling Sweater
I found this vintage sweater in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. It is handmade from a pattern by the Canadian company, Mary Maxim dating to the 1960s, and depicts the sport of Five Pin Bowling, played only in Canada. Watch the video below to see another one of these sweaters in action.
