Royal Stetson

This Stetson conforms closely to the dimensions and style of the Stetson Whippet, though it is not marked as such.

This is the same make and style as was worn by Jeff Bridges in Seabiscuit.

Black Stingy Stetson

This Stetson dates from the 1960s. It’s a pretty standard stingy brim from the period.

This hat falls somewhere between a c crown fedora and a porkpie. It has a back bow and dates from the late 1950s.

Mallory Aristocrat

This hat dates from the 1950s- post Stetson buyout. Similar to the Stetson Whippet in dimensions and trimming. It looks like this hat had a factory blocked crown as opposed to coming open crowned.

Resistol San Antonio

This was the first vintage hat I bought. I got it at a shop in Arizona right around easter when I was 14 years old. This is the one that started it all- and it’s all been downhill (uphill?) since.

Knox Homburg

Not just fine- Superfine!

This hat runs the casual end of homburgs. Brown, front dents, rust colored binding. I got this and a similarly colored Stetson Flagship in trade for a thin ribbon 1950s Mallory, which suited, and fit the client much better.

1930s Stetson Standard Quality

Posted on May 24, 2012 by Spencer Stewart

This 1930s Stetson is an interesting casual model, with a felt ribbon and triple stitched brim edge. The brown felt has a slightly fuzzy finish. It is “Standard Quality” felt, it is unlined, and it was sold by Hurds.

Age on hats

These two hats are the same model- same dimensions- same age. One was hardly worn- one was worn to death. Take a look.
