This fedora is a pure beaver custom hat from the 1950s. The felt is comparable to a 7X clear beaver Stetson of the period. I sold this one back around 2008, and is one of the few I’ve regretted passing on. I’ve only ever seen a couple others by this maker.

Adam Back Bow
This Adam dates from the mid to late 1950s. It has a porkpie crease without the center bump-up. The ribbon is tri-tone, with a back bow. Adams of this era used a plastic protective barrier between the sweatband and the felt of the hat, which shrinks up something fierce with age and heat. It’s easily remedied by simply ripping the plastic out of the hat. As you can see, this one had that problem.
