McCracken Bros 1950s western suit

This vintage suit was made in 1960 and was sold by McCracken Bros, the mens store, with locations in Bozeman and Dillon Montana. It is a more sedate version of the style, with proportions more in keeping with western suits of the mid 1950s. ¬†Made from putty colored gabardine, it has saddlebag pockets, peak lapels, a bi-swing back, a square cutaway, three button front and no yokes. The pants have regular style belt loops and buttoned “dog ear” pockets, more typically seen on equestrian breeches.

Rocky Mountain Hat Company custom cowboy hat

This hat was made by the high-end custom Rocky Mountain Hat Company of Bozeman, Montana for Dave Viers Jr. It is pure beaver and has a wide, curled brim, high crown and distinctive arrow point ribbon. A comparable hat from Rocky Mountain Hat co now would run in the range of $800, with an eight month wait time. It is a 7-1/4 and has a 4-7/8″ brim.

This vintage suit was made in the early 1960s by Curlee Clothes and was sold by McCracken Bros in Bozeman, Montana. It is single breasted, with a two button front and short side vents. The fabric is a subtle black and emerald green. Pants are flat fronted, cuffed and have a talon zipper. Jacket would best fit a size 42, and pants measure 35×30

Late 1920s tweed jacket

This vintage jacket was made in the late 1920s or very early 1930s by Capps clothes. It is made of a bold herringbone tweed. The jacket has fishmouth peak lapels, a slanted breast pocket, and a three button front. The jacket is unvented, has a cotton petal lining with taped seams. The jacket is deadstock and still has the original tag, identifying the model as “York”, sewn under the collar. This is the perfect jacket for an upcoming tweed ride, tweed pub crawl or general autumnal wear.

Bailey B Bar B Cowboy Hat

This vintage cowboy hat was made in the mid to late 1950s by Bailey hats under their “B Bar B” western line. It is made of high quality 3X fur felt. Please remember that the X rating system has inflated grossly over the past half-century, and varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. This is very nice felt. It is trimmed with a two cord band, and has a raw edge brim. The hat has a brown leather sweatband, stamped with the Bailey logo. It was sold in Bozeman, Montana by Wagner’s.
