Another case of a casual homburg, this one in milan straw. I got rid of it mostly because of the cheap sweatband.

Black Stingy Stetson
This Stetson dates from the 1960s. It’s a pretty standard stingy brim from the period.
Stingy Cervo
Stingy brim hats don’t usually do it for me, but this one works. The proportions, the color, the trimming, it all goes together so nicely.
I sold this hat and shipped it out a couple of years ago. About six months later, it showed up back on my doorstep. Apparently the buyer had moved and never updated their address, then never contacted me about not receiving it. It ended up costing me a bit of money and a lot of time sorting it all out.
Thin Ribbon Borsalino
I got this hat at a hospital flea market in Maryland a few years back. The quality and styling are exactly what you would expect from Borsalino- Top Notch.
Borsalino Velour
This fedora was made by Italian hat company Borsalino. It has a deep velour finish, with matching braided velour band.
Camel Stingy
This must have been a second or some kind of unsold stock, as you can see, all the marks have been stamped over to obliterate them.
Cavanagh
I found this one at a Maryland Hospital charity shop for not too much. I don’t find too many hats at thrift shops. Suits, jackets, coats, yes, but hardly ever hats.
This is a pretty standard stingy brim, but since it’s a Cavanagh, its quality is top notch.
Always on Top – Oasis cowboy hat
This hat, from the 1950s or 1960s, is a cheap wool felt. The welted brim edge is something you see on fedoras, but you just don’t see on nicer westerns. A hat like this needs it for stiffening. It has a horseshoe shaped crease, an imitation leather band and a very thin liner.

Cheap Straw
There were a lot of straw hats made in the golden era of hat wearing and beyond. And there were a lot of cheap ones. Cardboard or vinyl sweatbands that crack and harden and warp horribly in heat and moisture. Floppy, saggy or rock-hard materials. This falls into that category. A one-seasoner.
