This vintage coat was made immediately after WWII by Duxbak from their lightweight Montana Cloth. It has two large cargo pockets and a flapped breast pocket. It has a belted back and bi-swing shoulders.

This vintage jacket, named the “Browser”, was made in the late 1950s-early 1960s by Sunset House. It was introduced in 1957 and produced through to about 1964, with a pattern change, introducing collar stays among a few other things, around 1962. The earliest versions were offered in red and beige, with the darker brown introduced around 1958. This places the date of manufacture of this particular one between c.1958 and c.1962. This jacket was advertised by Sunset House with several different label variants, the most common endorsed by Cornel Wilde for the men’s version and endorsed by Jean Wallace on the ladies version, with the less common version bearing no endorsement. Unfortunately, on this jacket, the label is missing, but it is an absolutely unmistakable style. Elvis favored these corduroy Browser jackets, owning them in all the colors they were produced in, and wearing different colored jackets of the same model on the album cover of “Elvis is Back!” and in the film King Creole. This style was also worn by Eddie Cochran. The jacket has a double pleated back, and four pockets on the front, the openings of which mirror the back pleats. It has a soft roll collar with a tab closure. It is fully lined.

This vintage jacket was made in the 1930s from a cotton Indian blanket. It is single breasted, with a hand stitched buttonhole at the neck for a single button. It has a shirt style collar and patch pockets.

This jacket was made by Ralph Lauren, inspired by the WWII USN M-421a summer flight jacket. It is made of lightweight cotton twill, unlined, with a half-belt back, bi-swing shoulders, a bell shaped Talon zip, flapped patch pockets, the left of which has a pen slot, and an internal vertical snapped breast pocket.

This vintage jacket was made in the 1930s, and was sold by the J.C. Penney Company under their Sportclad label. It is made of red and black plaid wool mackinaw fabric with flapped cargo pockets, handwarmer pockets, a zipped rear entry to the internal game pocket, and leather reinforcement at the corners of these pockets. The zippers are early Talon, with bell-shaped pullers. The deco lines on the pull of the zipper put the date of manufacture around 1937. The jacket is fully lined, and has a trimmed throat latch.

This vintage jacket was made in 1955 by Prices Tailors Ltd to the 1949 Battledress Pattern. It is a British Army size 13, for someone 5’11” to 6′ with a 39-40″ chest. By the measurements, it is pretty oversized.

This vintage jacket was made in 1952 for the British National Fire Service (NFS). It is sized as per English army uniforms, with a size no. 10 fitting between 5’7″ and 5’8″, with a chest of 38 inches, a waist or 34 inches. It was made by the Universal Clothing Co. At some point, probably in the 1970s, the body had a psychedelic lining partially applied over the original.

This vintage jacket was made in the 1930s by the Independent Towel Supply Company of Cleveland, Ohio. It is their style 630, made of white canvas, with a three button front, square cutaway and three patch pockets. The breast pocket is unusually shallow. This style of jacket was worn both institutionally as workwear and became popular on east coast university campuses as part of the 1930s “beer suit”.
