1950s Land N Lakes western jacket

This vintage western jacket was made in the late 1950s by the Herman K. Lavin Company of St. Paul, Minnesota under the Land-N-Lakes label. The jacket is made from a blend of Wool, Nylon and Cashmere in an attractive muted plaid. The jacket has peak lapels, and fancy western yokes front and back. It has bi-swing shoulder.

H Bar C western jacket

This vintage jacket was made in the 1960s by H Bar C Ranchwear.  It is made of brown plaid wool, with a napped finish. It has a yoked front and back, with a belt-back and norfolk style strapped front.

Arizona Hatters cowboy duster

This vintage coat was made by Arizona Hatters, 2502 N. 1st Ave, Tucson, AZ in the late ’60s-1970s and was worn on a ranch here in Montana.  It is made from heavy waxed canvas in a distinctive dark orange color.  It has a broad collar, yoked front and back, elasticized cuffs, a drawstring waist and large pockets. The coat does up with a combination of snaps and a zipper.  The zipper is typical of the 1960s-1970s era, and was probably made in Japan, with a stopbox design copied from Talons of the early 1950s.

Hollywood costume- western vest

This vintage vest was made in the early part of the 20th century from pound sign jaquard material, with a four pocket front, lapels and leather trimmed pockets.  At some point it found its way into Hollywood wardrobe.   This was used in various westerns over the years, and remained in Warner Brothers’s costume house until fairly recently, as evidenced by their modern style label with bar code.

1940s Miller western suit

This vintage suit was made in the postwar period, by Miller Western Wear of Denver, Colorado. This is a fairly early variant of the style, made sometime in the late 1940s through early 1950s. It has a three button front, peak lapels, saddlebag pockets and bi-swing shoulders. The pants have western style belt loops and pearl snap pockets.

Allen Half-belt western jacket

This vintage jacket was made in the late 1940s-early 1950s in Denver Colorado by the Allen Mfg. Co. It is made of gray striped wool, with a belted back with buttoned side adjusters.  It has a zipper front with a Talon zipper, with a Talon branded U shaped stop box used in the mid-late 1940s and a rounded corner pull, introduced in the late 1940s.  The jacket has handwarmer pockets and steeply angled talon zip breast pocket.
