Woolrich bib front shirt

This vintage pullover jacket was made in the 1950s by the Woolrich Woolen Mills of Woolrich, PA.  It is based on an 1800s bib front design, with a distinctive shield shaped bib and mother of pearl buttons.  It has a cigarette pocket on the sleeve and tails which come to a point front and back.

This vintage suit was made by the Utah Woolen Mills of Salt Lake City, Utah under their Jack Frost Woolen Wear label.  A classic 1950s western style, this one was made relatively late for the details, in 1962.  It has a striped fabric, with peak lapels, a three button front, front and back yokes, double breast pockets, flapped, pleated pockets and leather buttons.  The pants are hollywood waisted, with a watch pocket on the top seam and fancy western belt loops and pockets.

This vintage western suit was made in the early-mid 1950s in Denver, Colorado by the Allen Mfg. Co.  It is made from gray wool with a purple and brown fleck.  The suit has a three button front, square cutaway, peak lapels, four western “smile” pockets and a yoked back.  The pants have pearl snap back buttons, fancy pockets and western belt loops.

This vintage suit was made in the late 1950s-early 1960s by Gross of Denver.  It is made from iridescent green and gold sharkskin, with a western cut. It has peak lapels and yokes front and back, with the pleats in the rear allowing for greater range of motion in the shoulders. The pants have pearl snaps on the back pockets and fancy western belt loops.

McCracken Bros 1950s western suit

This vintage suit was made in 1960 and was sold by McCracken Bros, the mens store, with locations in Bozeman and Dillon Montana. It is a more sedate version of the style, with proportions more in keeping with western suits of the mid 1950s.  Made from putty colored gabardine, it has saddlebag pockets, peak lapels, a bi-swing back, a square cutaway, three button front and no yokes. The pants have regular style belt loops and buttoned “dog ear” pockets, more typically seen on equestrian breeches.
