This vintage studded jeweled belt was made in the 1950s from Pennant Steerhide. It has an embossed floral pattern, red, blue, amber and green jewels, a western “good luck” horsehshoe and cloverleaf buckle, retainer and end. It measures 29-1/2″ at the smallest hole and 33″ at the largest. This would probably fit someone who wears size 30 pants the best.

This vintage hunting coat is made from brown canvas, with a brown corduroy collar. It has large cargo pockets with shotgun shell loops inside, reinforced shoulders and an internal buttoned game pouch. It is half-lined with plaid flannel.

This vintage hunting vest was made in the 1950s. It was sold by Sears under the Active sportswear label. Due to similarity in design and construction to their product, I would guess that this was made under contract by the Empire Mfg. Co. It has two large cargo pockets on the front with shotgun shell loops inside. There is a game pouch on the back.

This vintage hat was made in the 1950s by Peters Brothers Inc. of Fort Worth, Texas. It is “The Texas Hat” – the Shady Oaks Banker’s Special. Later models would change the name to the Shady Oak, dropping the s. These were the models famously presented to presidents, and worn by wealthy Texas oilmen. It retailed for $50 in the 1950s, an extremely expensive hat for the time, and the quality really shows. I would say it is comparable to Stetson’s 7X Clear Beaver felt of the period.
The beaver felt hoods used in these earlier models were made in Switzerland. I have read they used these imported felt bodies because mercury processing was still done in Switzerland at that time, which resulted in a higher quality felt.

This vintage coat was made in the early 1950s for Sears. It was sold under the JC Higgins label. It is made from heavy red and black plaid mackinaw cloth. There are handwarmer pockets and flapped cargo pockets. There is a game pouch on the back. The coat is lined in a different plaid, with rayon linings in the sleeves. This model can be seen in the page from the 1950 Sears catalog below. This model goes back with few changes to the 1930s, but earlier models had patch cargo pockets.

This vintage vest was made in the 1940s by the Hettrick Mfg. Co. of Toldeo, Ohio. It is what is now known as a “half-moon” style, named after its round game pocket access on the front. This vest was intended for flyfishers, and has a fly rod loop to hold your rod and a multitude of pockets. It is made of green canvas. Wear to canvas. Missing fly pad. Period repair to back

This vintage vest was made from Chimayo Indian blanket material. It has a five button front with loop closure. The material is a vibrant blue with red, yellow, white and blue designs. The edges of the interior are lined. Unfortunately, there are no tags, but there were several makers of these vests based out of New Mexico and Texas.

This vintage denim jacket was sold by Montgomery Ward under their Powr House workwear label. The denim has a wonderful fade to it. The jacket is a classic chore coat design, with four front pockets and an interior pocket. With the exception of the cuffs, the design seems nearly identical to a Lee 91-J. With Powr House as a house brand, it’s possible MW contracted out to Lee to make this run of jackets. There is a union tag in the breast pocket, but it is faded to the point of illegibility.
