1950s Lockshire gabardine overcoat

This vintage overcoat was made in the 1950s by Lockshire of Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is single breasted, with notch lapels. It has a vented back and slash handwarmer pockets. It is half-lined, as was customary at that point. The jacket has a fantastic label and a 1949 union tag. With a 48″ chest, this will best fit someone who wears a size 42 suit.

Hettrick American Field Half Moon hunting fishing vest

This vintage vest was made in the 1940s by the Hettrick Mfg. Co. of Toldeo, Ohio. It is what is now known as a “half-moon” style, named after its round game pocket access on the front. This vest was intended for flyfishers, and has a fly rod loop to hold your rod and a multitude of pockets. It is made of khaki colored canvas.

1950s Frankoat tweed Chesterfield overcoat

This vintage coat was made in the 1950s by Frank Bros under the Frankoat label. It was sold in Vincennes, Indiana by Albert’s, Inc. It is made of a gray tweed wool, with a velvet collar to give it that Chesterfield overcoat style. By the way it wraps from the front to the back of the collar, my guess would be that the velvet collar was added by a tailor after the coat’s initial manufacture. The coat has a plain back and cuffed sleeves.

1950s Brent norfolk jacket style coat

This vintage herringbone tweed jacket was made in the late 1950s and was sold by Montgomery Ward under their house label, Brent. It is a 1920s Norfolk style, with norfolk straps and an attached belt. The jacket has a warm pile lining and quilted sleeves.

Golden Fleece Half-belt leather jacket

This vintage leather jacket was made in the 1950s by Golden Fleece from heavy suede leather. The jacket has a half-belt back and a Conmar zipper front, with a surcoat-style zipper attachment at the bottom. The jacket has a suit style breast pocket. The jacket has a quilted lining.

1950s Land N Lakes western jacket

This vintage jacket was made in the 1950s by the Herman K Lavin Company of Saint Paul, Minnesota under the Land-N-Lakes label. It is made of an 75% Wool, 15% Nylon and 10% Cashmere blend, with peak lapels, elaborate front and back yokes, bi-swing shoulders, scalloped pocket flaps and saddlebag pockets. These jackets are about half-way between a sportcoat and a jacket, the perfect weight for fall.

Early’s Witney Point blanket mackinaw

This vintage coat was made in the late 1940s. The makers label, which appears to have been originally located above the Milium label, is unfortunately missing. The coat is made of English made Early’s Witney Point blanket material, heavier and thicker than those of the Hudson’s Bay Company in this period. The coat is the classic point blanket mackinaw pattern and cut, in red with black stripes. It is double breasted and belted, with handwarmers and cargo pockets. The coat is fully lined with Milium insulation.

1950s Duxbak Sahib gun club jacket

This vintage jacket was made in the 1950s in Utica NY by the Utica Duxbak corporation, maker of high-end hunting garments for most of the 20th century. It is made of their Sahib Poplin, a lightweight cotton which they marketed primarily for African safari hunting. The jacket has a leather gun pad on the right shoulder, for right handed shooters, as well as leather reinforcement on the pockets and leather patches on the elbows, added by the original owner. The jacket is a half-belt style with front norfolk-style straps to help support heavy cargo in the front pockets. There is a bellows breast pocket, shaped just perfectly for a pack of cigarettes. There are patches on the back from the NRA- the original owner was a certified pistol instructor, rifle instructor, hunter safety instructor, home firearm safety instructor, and club instructor at the Clayton Rifle and Pistol Club

1950s Land N Lakes western jacket

This vintage western jacket was made in the 1950s by the Herman K. Lavin Co. of St. Paul Minnesota under the Land-N-Lakes label. It seems to have been a popular naming convention among St. Paul manufacturer’s, with Guiterman Bros’s “Town and Country” and Gordon & Ferguson’s “Field and Stream”. The jacket is a western cut, with a square cutaway, peak lapels, fancy yokes front and back and bi-swing shoulders. The gray flannel tends to quiet the design a bit. It is fully lined.

1950s Hubcraft gabardine overcoat

This vintage overcoat was made in the 1950s under the Hubcraft label for the Lewistown, Montana location of The Hub department store, owned by Joe Alweis. The coat is made of blue gabardine and has wide Bold Look lapels, a three button fly front, cuffed sleeves and a plain, vented back. It is half-lined and has an early variant 1949 ACWofA union tag. With a chest measurement of 46″ and a standard 6″ drop for overcoats, this would best fit someone who wears a size 40.
