Ralph Lauren shawl collar mackinaw

This vintage jacket was made by Ralph Lauren under the Polo label, with a style based on 1920s sporting jackets.  It has a shawl collar with a double button closure at the top, small patch pockets and a waistband made from the same material as the body of the coat.  It is made from a blue plaid wool.

Ralph Lauren zip hood mackinaw

This coat was made by Ralph Lauren under the Polo label. This one was made in the USA and probably dates to the 1980s. The style is based on a short lived variant on the work mackinaw, popular very briefly in the late 1930s, with a zip front, handwarmer pockets and flapped cargo pockets, a belted back and a zipped split hood.  In keeping with the origins, this one is made with unlined construction.

Town Clad pinstripe suit

This vintage suit was made in the 1940s and was sold by Penney’s under their Town Clad label.  It’s an off the rack suit, tailored to fit a tall man, with material added to the lining to facilitate the long sleeves and no cuffs to the pants to handle the long inseam.

Bowling Sweater

This vintage sweater was made in Canada in the 1950s and has a five pin bowling motif. The front closes with a small gauge Talon zipper.

1940s ROTC mackinaw coat

This vintage mackinaw was made by the Shenandoah Tailoring Co. Inc.of Mt. Sidney, Virginia.  It is double breasted, with rounded lapels,and flapped handwarmer pockets.It is unlined and bears patches from the ORA and the ROTC.

Shoulder to shoulder:18″
Sleeve (shoulder to cuff): 25-1/2″
Length (base of collar to hem): 32-1/4″

This coat was made in the USA by Ralph Lauren under their Polo label.  It is double breasted, with a belted back, handwarmer pockets and flapped, buttoned cargo pockets.  In keeping with the 1930s mackinaws upon which it is based, it is unlined with taped seams.
