1930s Protecto The Rancher cowboy hat

This vintage cowboy hat was made in the 1930s by Protecto. The model name is “The Rancher”. It has a wide bound brim and a five cord hatband. The sweatband is an early 1930s style, with a wide embossed stripe at the top. The liner is the nearly identical to the “Last Drop” image as is found on Stetson hats.

1940s Dobbs suede finish fedora hat

This vintage hat was made by Dobbs in the early 1940s. It is made of a suede-finish fur felt, with an underwelt brim edge and a teardrop crease. This is typical of sporty fedoras of the wartime period. The hat has a brown leather sweatband, which bears the slanted Dobbs name. The hat was originally sold at Vandt’s Mens Wear of Missoula, Montana.

1950s Penneys Gentry sportcoat

This vintage tweed jacket was made in the late 1950s-early 1960s for Penneys, under the Gentry label. It has a classic 2-roll-3 cut, and a wonderful fabric with subtle orange and blue/green. It bears a variant of the 1949 Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America tag which was used between 1949 and c. 1961. The (R) symbol was added to the lower left corner of the label in 1962.

This vintage jacket was made by Hart Schaffner & Marx in the late 1950s. It is made of striped dark blue and orange wool with a diamond weave. It has a three button front and notch lapels. The jacket is half-lined.
