Single Breasted Alpagora Overcoat

This vintage overcoat was made in the late 1930s through mid 1940s timeframe by “Alpagora”. This alpaca/ wool overcoat blend was advertised heavily at that time, noted for its warmth. This coat is single breasted, with a fly front. It has no rear vent. Due to the position of the stitching on the coat, it is impossible to tell whether the coat bears a 1936 or a 1939 union tag.

Italian Leather Police Jacket

This vintage jacket was made in Italy. It is police issue, a double breasted, belted style. It has raglan shoulders, has buttoned tabs on the sleeves, and slash pockets. It has a blanket wool lining.

This vintage overcoat was made in Hungary, and sold in Vienna. It is a double breasted camelhair coat with moderately narrow peak lapels.

DeLong sportswear jacket

This vintage jacket was made in the early 1950s by DeLong sportswear. It is made of “Nylodeen”, a miracle fabric advertised heavily in the 1950s, which was a nylon-wool blend in a gabardine weave, designed to shed water more readily than a standard all wool gabardine. The pile collar of this coat was described in period advertisements as being a timme-mouton. It has a front belt, a talon zipper and a quilted lining. It is tagged a size 40.Other than the color and size, the coat worn by Flick in “A Christmas Story” is nearly identical. Brown Double Breasted Overcoat

This vintage overcoat was made in the 1940s by Collegian Clothes for the Matzke Dite Company of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It bears a 1939 Union tag, which places its date of manufacture between 1939 and 1949. The coat is a brown wool alpaca blend. It has a double breasted front with wide lapels, has button tabs on the sleeves, and a plain vented back. For some inexplicable reason, someone has cut out the botton half of the lining.Chest: 23″Shoulder to Shoulder: 18″Sleeve: 25″

Woolrich striped blanket shawl collar mackinaw

This vintage coat was made by woolrich. It has a double breasted front and a pile shawl collar. The striped blanket material of the coat is 85% wool, with 15% nylon to prevent shrinkage in the elements. Chest: 24″Shoulder to Shoulder: 22″Sleeve: 23″

Fur Collar Crombie Coat

This overcoat was made in England by Jeffrey Banks from high end Crombie fabric. It is a classic 6×4 double breasted style, a very elegant and vintage look. But what really sets this one apart is the collar. The collar has been trimmed in the most luxurious fur I’ve felt- I can’t tell if it’s sheared mink or sheared beaver. It appears to have been done by a tailor after the coat’s original production, going by the visible lapel buttonholes on the back of the lapels, but it was well done.

Bold Tweed Overcoat

This vintage overcoat was made in the 1930s or 1940s. It has a classic double breasted cut, with a belted back. It has flapped patch pockets, and is half lined. But what really sets it apart from the crowd is the fabric. This is the boldest herringbone I’ve seen outside of an Apparel Arts illustration. Unfortunately, the label is long gone. The fabric has multicollored pre-atomic flecks of red, green and white.

This vintage Marines issue overcoat dates to WWII. It is double breasted, made of green wool. It has a six button front and a belted back.
