The Western Look
The western look doesn’t have to be all flashy pearl snap suits and nudie suits (though you will see some of those here in a bit). Tweed, bow tie, custom pure beaver cowboy hat.
1920s 1930s Stetson No. 1 Western
This one’s seen some trail. Look at the character the sweatband has accumulated.
1930s Dobbs Western
The real deal- a big ’30s Dobbs western sold by Desmond’s of California. No interest when I sold this one- ended up losing money on it. Everyone wants a “Stetson” and are willing to pay big for the brand name. People will pay big for Dobbs fedoras, but they just didn’t become iconic in the western market in the same way.
Stetson Tom Mix
This one’s a huge hat. Big crown, big brim, and like most modern Stetsons, lousy felt and trimming.
Coffee
1940s “Imperial Cap Works” Flat cap. They just don’t make caps like this any more. Not with this shape, this cut, this fabric. Modern caps just don’t cut it in the looks department. But these old ones are a pain to find and to recognize when going through page after page of terrible ebay ads.
Sleeved Waistcoat
A vest with sleeves. Belted back. Mess jacket? Porter?

Another of the same. In my opinion, more practical and stylish than later models. A thousand times better made and durable than modern versions.

WWII 10 button peacoat, corduroy lined pockets. Heavy, dense blue kersey wool.
