This vintage hunting jacket was made by the Woolrich Woolen Mills in the mid-late 1940s. It has their wartime style pre (R) label, with the Woolrich branded snaps and asymmetrical breast pockets, helping to narrow down the dating to around 1946-48.
Chest (pit to pit): 23″ (doubled = 46″)
Shoulder to shoulder: 18-1/2″
Sleeve (shoulder to cuff): 24″
Length (base of collar to hem): 30″
I have a 583 that looks identical & same embellishments with matching hat. It has wear in the fold of each cuff Edge & wear in the gold lining at shoulder & Woolrich label slightly worn also. Size 42. I would say that it is good to excellent except for the above. Would you like to make an offer. This was my father’s and has been in our family since at least late 50’s early 60’s. Sincerely,
