1930s NRA tagged Stetson Montecristi Panama

Now on eBay! LINK

The quality of this early motecristi panama is absolutely incredible. It has a typical early panama style, with a optimo crown and wide brim. The number of weaves per inch is staggering, and the body of the hat more closely resembles a linen than it does straw. A high dollar hat in its day to be sure. It has an early 1930s Stetson foil tag, and a NRA label- made under the Hat industry code authority. The sweatband is wide and supple, with a taped back seam. The liner is half mesh, half silk, with one of the most detailed Stetson imprints I’ve seen. Unfortunately, there are rips in the straw, at the 12:00 position, 1:00, 6:00 and 9:00, as well as a weak spot at the front of the crown.

Size: 7-1/4
Brim Width: 2-3/4″
Ribbon Width: 1-1/4″
Crown Height: 5″
